@RestoredTruth8 Protestants dont know the Trinity because they didn't sit in councils debating and voting, so they just get a "sanatized" kid version and once that proves not enough, fall back to "mystery"
This is nearly universal in all of mainstream Christianity.
They dont actually know it.
@RestoredTruth8@collinE83@farmingandJesus Don't forget the part of the Bible where Paul literally says "this is not from God it's just my opinion"
Somehow thats "infallible" "God-Breathed" too π
@Primary_Pianist The basic protestant message is:
"If I think Jesus is cool, I can do whatever I want"
Thats the best selling doctrine currently that generate the most revenue for those churches so it drives that theology.
Churches that teach necessary sacrifice (fit through the needle) do poorly
@stackerco@RestoredTruth8 They are not necessarily "lies". People are complicated and behave in complicated ways.
Consider that if you had a friend get divorced, he may give varying reasons to various people/groups, none of which may actually be "lies".
The best way to know why is to watch what he is/does
@jkimballcook Here's a point of consideration for everyone.
Someone who just got a divorce is likely to tell a true-ish but different reason to various people. Kids, neighbor, boss, future love interest, best friend.
This is the same, which is why looking at what they do instead of say is best
@RavnReborn@RestoredTruth8 I've tried to do this before on X a few times and it has never worked due to limited post size and complexity, which is why I said I need to make a presentation on it.
Probably not a book, but more like a lecture with slides etc..
It's just left people frustrated and confused.
@Mormonger Just remember, with the HU, they weren't actually touching Jesus' wounds, they were touching the wounds of the carbon housing because Jesus didn't actually get hurt or die or suffer cause he cant.
@thisismetroid@RestoredTruth8 Of course not.
There are people in the pews every week that have found *all* of the "problems", yet they still come every week, and in a lot of cases (maybe most) still believe.
@RavnReborn@RestoredTruth8 What would her reaction be if you got up and ready and told your family that you were going to church with them this Sunday?
@RavnReborn@RestoredTruth8 I didn't say you were a member, I said you have a ward, and consequently, a Bishop assigned to you. It doesn't matter if you attend, believe, go, etc..
If you had a need you could go to that Bishop.
Anyways, what are the chances of you making it to church this week?
