That is where the insurance industry costings come in. This is what forms the basis of the costings for the redress scheme

It’s likely now that the Cabinet won’t sign off on the new mica and pyrite redress scheme until the week after next. Work on a maximum cap (possibly upwards of €400,000) and finalising issues around the inclusion of rental properties, is ongoing.

@RTELateLateShow In Dublin today the issue remains but it appears that the perception is that government is funding the testing into the issues there (contrary to the support offered outside outside of the county).

@RTELateLateShow good spread of people sharing their battles.The mica/pyrite story battle is one that could appear on your doorstep. Donegal/Mayo/Clare/Limerick/Tipperary/ and most recently Sligo have come out and expressed their battles with their homes built defective materials

@RTE_PrimeTime @RitaOReilly The maths do not work here either. The current redress scheme excludes a lot homes at present. This 3.2B must have a sizeable lump of money not earmarked for the affected homeowners. I'd say at least 30%. Where is the rationale behind these figures. ?
