Most SaaS companies fail not because the product is bad, but because nobody knows it exists.
In a crowded market, distribution is your ultimate unfair advantage. If you aren't treating your marketing strategy with the same rigor as your product sprints, you're falling behind.
A massive spike in traffic without a corresponding bump in MRR means your marketing is misaligned.
You don't need more traffic; you need higher-intent traffic. Focus your marketing on the specific 5% of your market that is experiencing the exact pain point you solve today.

Your SaaS landing page copy shouldn't sound like it was written by your engineering team.
Engineers write about infrastructure and inputs. Customers buy outcomes and speed. Translate your features into immediate business value or watch your bounce rate skyrocket.

Bootstrapping a SaaS to $5k MRR requires grit and product focus.
Scaling past $50k MRR requires a systemized marketing engine. You cannot brute-force growth forever via word-of-mouth. Build a predictable acquisition channel early.

If your SaaS free-trial conversion rate is under 5%, your onboarding sequence is likely broken.
Stop sending generic "Welcome to our app!" emails. Send trigger-based messages based on what the user actually did or didn't do inside your platform on day one.

A great SaaS product with poor marketing will always lose to an average SaaS product with world-class marketing.
Code handles the product. Distribution handles survival. Don't neglect the engine that actually brings in the revenue.

@DmitryBBLV That is true but majority of founders think that all you need is a good product, but you need people to now about it, you can have the best Saas product but if you have never marketed and looked for distribution channels you will not get customers.
Your SaaS doesn't have a product problem. It has a distribution problem.
Stop spending 6 months building features no one knows exist. Shift 50% of your energy to marketing and watch your MRR actually move. Distribution beats product every single time.

@PyLocket Yes founders should build a product that solves a need but people should also know about it, you can have the best product but if no one knows it, it will not be successful.
@DmitryBBLV True but as a founder you started a Saas business for solving a need or problem which will never be a weak product, and its better to focus on the distribution more cause the product is done.
@i_mika_el If a founder has no funds they can cold outreach, put content out etc, for narrowing down and finding the best distribution channels for a given SaaS type message us to get the best ways.
@i_mika_el The key to finding the best distribution is testing all sorts of marketing ways, and picking the best ones, and that depends on what type of Saas business it is.
