This is common. I was in 5th grade when I choked on an orange. I stood up out of my seat and started pointing and moving around. My teacher pointed and laughed at me, which got all the kids to laugh at me while I was choking. The only reason why I survived was because my principal came in the class to see what all the noise was about. My principal was the one who saved my life. When I came back to school, our teacher was gone and replaced with a sub for the rest of the year.

How could you not recognize the signs of a choking student?
