Probably the worst social aspect of psychedelic use: ppl often intentionally imagine wrongly what it looks like. Cheezy hippie magick or freakouts or brainwashing... those stock concepts are mostly just to help us feel like we're not missing out.
I remember 2015 when I was sitting naked in a hot tub telling people I'd discovered this new video genre that was helping me confront some social discomfort I still had. That genre, I said, was called "Cringe". Wow… now that is an extremely cringe memory.
