Poor English and French skills.

They’ve been lying to you about inflation for years — and the data proves it.

Canada’s M2 money supply exploded at roughly **7.1% compound annual growth** for over two decades. From ~$495 billion in 2000 to over **$2.55 trillion** by mid-2024. That’s a **5x increase**.

In 2020 alone, the Bank of Canada printed and injected **over $180 billion** into government bonds in a matter of months. The monetary base roughly **quintupled**.

Official CPI stayed “on target” at 2%.

How? By playing games with the numbers:

- When steak gets too expensive, they swap it for chicken in the basket (commodity-substitution bias).
- They “adjust” for quality improvements on everything from cars to electronics (hedonic adjustment).
- They literally redefine the basket to make the number say whatever they want.

Meanwhile, **real life** tells the truth:
- Home prices **tripled** since 2000.
- Rents **doubled or tripled** in many cities.
- Groceries up **30–100%** since 2020 depending on what you buy.

Every new dollar they create **dilutes** the dollars you already earned. Your savings get destroyed at ~7% while they brag about “2% inflation.”

This isn’t an accident. It’s a **wealth transfer** — from you to governments, banks, and asset owners.

The 2% number is pure propaganda.

Drop a 💰 if you’re done being gaslit by official statistics.
