One of the core missions of the Nobel Foundation is to safeguard the dignity of the Nobel Prizes and their administration. The Foundation upholds Alfred Nobel’s will and its stipulations. It states that the prizes shall be awarded to those who "have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind," and it specifies who has the right to award each respective prize. A prize can therefore not, even symbolically, be passed on or further distributed.

The White Conservative Church in America has slowly eradicated the compassionate, peacemaking, power-opposing, hypocrisy-confronting Jesus from its movement.

This is why it shouldn’t surprise us that we’re seeing this Jesus-less Church of White American Exceptionalism falling all over itself to anoint as sacred, a man whose words and platform have been completely bereft of the teachings of Jesus, and worse, that flew stridently, condescendingly in the face of them.

They are putting their kids in ‘I am Charlie Kirk’ t-shirts and waging phony culture wars, because it’s much easier to do that than to actually read the Sermon on the Mount with them and admit that the love, empathy, generosity, and hospitality of Jesus (things Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump fully reject) is the difficult path their faith tradition actually calls them to.

James Dobson died today according to Focus on the Family. It's genuinely hard to quantify the pain he and his organization are responsible for. I've walked with hundreds and hundreds of people who experienced severe trauma (spiritual, emotional, physical, etc.) because of his teachings.

When Pat Robertson died, Pastor Lura Groen wrote something that perfectly captures how I feel about the death of James Dobson:

He is being surprised by Love.
I do not know if discovering the vastness of God's love is hell for him, or heaven.
Perhaps a little of both.
That's above my pay grade.
