I woke up today with a heavy heart… and I can’t keep this to myself.

Kalejaye – my friend from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta – has been battling kidney failure for months. I remember him back in school: full of laughter, dreams, and hope for the future.

I think around 2021 was when I noticed I couldn't take high pitch the way I used to back in Nigeria when singing. But I noticed this year, I sing higher & I was wondering what changed. Ladies & Gentlemen, my toodler changed 😭 The daily screaming & repeating STOP a million times

It's the second-to-last month of the year and I just realized I haven't been told "congratulations" throughout this year 😭😔. Results to efforts haven't been seen YET but capacity has definitely been stretched. In all, one month is still too much for God to do something 🙏

I may be wrong, & my observation might be flawed, but has anyone else noticed the huge gender gap in new-generation churches? Where're our men? Don’t you desire community, mentorship, or spiritual growth? Or is the church just too “emotional” for y’all? 7 females: 3 males. WHY?!

But when will the world take mothers seriously & declare an official Mother's’ holiday? A few days or even a week where all mothers worldwide don’t have to work (still get paid tho), just to reset, rest, have self-care, or even run away from motherhood duties for a bit. WHEN!?

It's important to embrace a balanced perspective on life & faith. Blessings & trials will come & go, but our response—gratitude & faith—must remain constant. This doesn’t mean we won’t cry nor laugh when expected. Our relationship mustn't fluctuate based on circumstances.

I pray that while we are filled with excitement & celebration over our answered prayers, we also take a moment to remember that trials & tribulations will still exist. May we remain grateful & hopeful, knowing that regardless of the situation, God will always show up.
