Orthodoxy is alive and growing in Southwestern Ohio. This account aims to highlight the Ancient Faith in the region, connect its parishes and faithful, and offer a glimpse into how the area celebrates our beliefs.
Having celebrated in Cincy the Church’s bday (Pentecost) and the Sunday of All Saints, we now turn to all the Saints of our homeland, the USA! Holy Sts. Olga and Herman of Alaska, John of SF, Rafael of Brooklyn, Alexis of Wilkes-Barre, & all the rest, pray to God for us!
@EddieJamro84189 Another word for venerate is honor. What was that commandment about father and mother again? Stop asking disingenuous, libellous questions
@thereisonlyz@ruckusofantioch What “career” moves would even a diaspora hierarch be after? They all pretty much stay in one diocese after they become a ruling bishop, only two tried for the top job last time and its not likely to become available for like 30 years
@Darthjimscott41@JPuncut Sure, we should reject SS, but moreover there IS a bible verse where Christ gasped one of his final breaths telling his only faithful disciple at that hour the Theotokos was to be his mother.
@realbales@JPuncut What’s wrong with praying to Moses? If you were applying to a job and you knew someone that was the mother of the hiring boss, wouldn’t you ask for her intercessions? Christians have done so for two millennia, I don’t understand the holdup over asking for intercessions.
@LethalHoliness@JPuncut Thats very true but moreover there’s literally a bible verse with one of Christ’s final, agonising words he gasped a command for John to take the Theotokos as his mother. I’m truly speechless at this tweet.
@KalaDeeDee@oanagnostes but now we have a permanent, purpose-built temple and hall for future generations. our parish has doubled since we built it. despite the internal drama it caused at the time, we persevered and I still can't believe it's real 13 years later.
@KalaDeeDee@oanagnostes Yes there were many trials and tribulations, from zoning fights to bad contractors to the original land we purchased ending up being unusable (that we sold for a huge loss). It took well over a decade of hard work, festivals, galas, and other fundraising efforts.
