#DuneProphecy's final episode was by far the best episode of the show and a great ending to this season. Tula, Desmond and Valya are wonderful characters and the flashbacks interwoven into this episode were fantastic. The Sisterhood massacre was absolutely brutal and really shows you how powerful the Bene Gesserit are, but always at the cost of falling victim to their own hubris and misguided decision-making.
I love that we actually got a show led by two characters whom we do understand & sympathise with, but never at the cost of making them seem like good people. I love that we see their evil deeds and that we have to question who to root for in this series.
Sister Dorotea leading the Sisterhood schism and taking over 30 years after her death as a vengeful spirit bend on destroying Valya was great, and I really like how every single action within this series carries consequences. I loved seeing Jen & Emeline really find their place within this story and it will be very interesting to see them in the future under the abomination's leadership.
Lore-wise, this was also very exciting again. Sister Theodosia's face-dancing was a little disappointing to me because it really didn't amount to much in the end. However, I loved the way Valya's confrontation with Desmond and her past became an origin for the litany against fear, even though I can understand criticism that the literal manifestation of fear as a bio-virus is a bit too on the nose (and that the litany didn't really need an origin to begin with).
I love that so much now points to Desmond Hart being a Tleilaxu experiment and I would love to see the Bene Gesserit having to face the Bene Tleilax in an inter-galactic war waged in the shadows.
Other notable things: I can't believe we actually got to see a Guild Heighliner fold space!!!! Loved that.
R.I.P. Javicco Corrino :(
A fitting end to this character that actually made me a little sad. The unfolding realisation that he is just a pawn of several different interest groups hits hard and I loved the moment where he finally takes agency over his own fate.
The action was better than in the weeks before, but still one of the show's weakest aspects. Loved Valya using the voice in that short fight against Desmond, but the other scenes just didn't look good at all. In a show like this, I think we could have left out these pointless fights entirely.
I loved how streamlined this final episode was and how good the performances were. No pointless side plots. No big focus on characters we don't care about. Just lots of good Sisterhood stuff, great resolutions and fantastic character moments. Olivia Williams & Emma Canning are the absolute standouts in their portrayal of Tula Harkonnen. Yet Emily Watson, Jessica Barden, Travis Fimmel and Chloe Lea also did such a fantastic job throughout this season and especially in this final episode.
Overall, this final episode couldn't fix all the issues this season had, but it was such a great ending and I'm really excited for Season 2 now!!
