i’d describe this less as sexual shame than having something to prove, which i think are 2 distinct things, but i agree that the men who have something to prove are either very good or very bad, never average
i have a profound fear of one day becoming orthodox again, and it’s matched only by a quietly growing fear of growing old and, faced with the prospect of solitude, marry my ex and move back to the tiny scottish town where he lives
optimistically, i think human writing will still continue to outpace llms. maybe not for ad copy and emails but i’ve noticed i have an aversion to writing that smacks of ai even when it’s technically perfect.
it’s possible we’ll start getting more art and writing that’s intentionally imperfect, like how punk fashion originated as anti-fashion. this is hard to predict for an llm because they’re being trained for optimisation, and making art that’s bad or jarring is a whole different ballgame. humans being spiteful, ornery, and irrational might save us
I was curious why LLMs have gotten so good at math and still aren't that good at writing, so I asked an expert. It's not because math is easier. It's because it has clear right and wrong answers and so is easier to train on. But they are coming for me next.
@ICEMACHlNE but you’re not entitled to women. you’re entitled to sex. very different. many willing assholes r prolly available for that if ur just a lil less picky. it’s like ppl on EBT: if u turn down free food cos its not what u like, u can’t demand ur favorite meal instead
constantly torn between commenting and quote tweeting. the former feels more pro-social & gets more views but quote tweeting i get to add to the opus (ie my x page), so it feels more mine. i know what ayn rand would choose in this situation but wwjd?
my brief career as a vinted reseller was tragically cut short because i’m too autistic to know the appropriate number of xxx’s to use when i’m messaging ppl
i want to love all my theoretical children equally and maybe i will, but when i worked at a nursery the little boys were always massive dipshits from an early age and if i can i’d rather opt out
i know body count is irrelevant to me because even tho i can still count my bodies on both hands, every time i get asked this i have to tally it up again. my # just never sticks in my head
usually pretty laissez faire about my religion but sometimes shit like this puts the fucking fear of God in me. i need to stop eating treif and go to the mikvah
started writing again, rediscovering that all the grammar rules i thought were pointless when i learned them are often good, actually. at 22 years of age i just learned the difference between “” and ‘’
@muixyui i lost dangerous amounts of weight v quickly and because no one mentioned it i didn’t realise anything was wrong until i went home and my mother commented on how skinny i was. i’m a fan of honesty, in situations like this; though i know it doesn’t always work
