Maybe he is paid by same Morton's who wrote the fake book u think is Popper's.
Popper wasn't an investor moving mkts & societies for biz
Soros admired Popper. A yacht named after wife isn’t aligned w/her vals, it’s a pleasant name.
Please calling Someone paid, while offering the dumbest BS is sad.
Im not so shure, due to the limited time, interest and sources I could applied to Mr Soros (not his son Alex).
He seem more to operate out of opportunity then leftist/Marxist and even Poppers worldview. In my view, and it’s spekulative, he was more the ontologic interested guy. I don’t think that groupthink is his thing, it’s more that he seen a niche and uses the acteurs as force multipling vectors.
That does not mean that his actions are not cathastrophic, I mean he only uses the lunatics cause the world learned not to go near them, but in his logic he gains. being the first trader of/in an Information space is his repeating scheme since NewYork.
I don’t know, it would be interesting to talk to him in closed while impossible open setting. There is a logic behind that’s better to be understood. It’s not quite fitting.the structure is different while sophisticated.
Could it be that this hard socialist support is more Alex work, and his money? Idk. Anyone knowing good books & sources about?
Not quite. Taking the bus to the supermarket isn’t a chicken-or-egg problem — it’s a grown cultural adaptation and structure. It has widened the form and substance of life to a degree that’s incommensurable with anyone living 200 years ago. It’s built on imitation; supermarkets and the routines around them look roughly the same worldwide.
You could say learner and teacher are hen and egg, but unlike biology — where the egg reliably produces the same outcome (it’s still a perfect egg job) — the learning system transforms itself with every iteration. The “offspring” isn’t identical; the whole structure evolves.
I’d picture it with a Mandelbrot set and its iterations versus a simple non-iterative equation. Simple rules, repeated across generations and scaled by technology, generate complexity that quickly escapes its origins.
been thinking about your critique of Deep Learning as “deep faking” – mostly statistical imitation of human thought patterns.
You’ve spent years building MicroPsi, a cognitive architecture that deeply imitates and simulates human motivation, emotion, self-models and memory. That work feels very personal and relational.
Today you seem to treat intelligence more as a distinct thing (the ability to build models for control) rather than a relation – an emergent process between agent, environment, history and embodiment.
What further changed in your thinking? Which insights make you draw such a sharp line between “real” model-building intelligence and the relational, imitative kind that biology (including our own retina and cortex) and current DL both rely on heavily?
Do you still see intelligence primarily as relational, or has it become more substantive/platonic in your view? Or is it? Curious about your current position. Maybe I misunderstood your work years ago.
But human thought is based in the imitation of patterns of human thought.
To what platonic universal form of intelligence are you referring? And how you can stipulate it, considering you are not Platon.
At least I would estimate that with that concept most people are deepfaking human intelligence.
Be cautious, stupid people go from that, and think about how to get rid of many life’s. Extremely stupid artificial intelligent people simulating smartness, will come up or collaborate with such ideas of idiots.
But what do I know…
If one would put a normal magnet in his hat, than he would checkmate anyone at Lockheed Martin who want to watch the magnetic field from far away. (If you are still paranoid, buy a hat with propellers and stick 2 magnets to it,then the field is alternating) Or where I don’t get it?
letting the magnet away, would result in less paranoid fun I guess.
Did he really talk about the smallest unit, (individual math person) or about a general Habitus/System/paradigm of how a society select & think about its mechanics?
Thiel is here abstraction layers higher, posing a important, valid question: is our Mechanism best possible, or could it flip?
considering our basic question of what understanding and learning means, it’s beautiful accurate.
todays leading concept (of what understand mean) is short: „if we can calculate it“.
its downsides, will show up, under disguises the next years. We will oversee most causes, call it „modern dangers“ and take the wrong political measures.
Mr Karp would be for me, interesting to ask for opinion, in this question. he plays this cutting edge quite successful.
But todays self entitled rulers of humanity want to first talk about gossip and backwards & stupid politics, till others can come with real questions.
That’s my understanding. What’s your take?
Are they? They are more or less the same, while the US is slightly better off.
For me, living in Europe, the elephant in the room is the Delusion in Europe. The blind want to lecture about Color. It’s dangerous to be an entrepreneur in an environment of the EU & their crazy lunatics, whom talk open about taking rights while politicise institutions.
Robinson & Acemoglu wrote a book about:“why nations fail“ it’s likely not read by the blind preferring stupid ideas.
@multiplanet1 Thats deep & full of hard truth, that only a few can lie on. Perhaps it's the only way to harden the machine to the point where it can withstand the pressure that either shatters it or produces diamonds.
@DavidDeutschOxf Idea of 'appearing Christ/Jew' was not specific to Vienna. Rooted in philosophy of Haskalah, as espoused by Moses Mendelssohn. The idea was to bring Jewish and Christian lifestyles closer together.
I understand both sides of the argument, but I tend more towards Popper's view.
@skdh Mark M Wilde has an outstanding book on Quantum Information, that i would highly recommend one to learn QIT
The Paper didnt say what you claim https://t.co/kp22d5p4Uk page5: they ask the legit question how !Quantum-Shannon paradigm behaviour to theoretic retrocausal settings
@multiplanet1 people who talk about their passions, have passions.
Bizzare is knowing a script that nobody taught.
Were did they get it from?
Thats creepy. Thats not performance, thats Tommyknockers.
