Anytime Pedri is subbed on for Spain, they instantly look like a completely different side in terms of control. It’s almost as if they’ve flicked a switch and everything suddenly becomes calm.
Technically, Pedri is anti-chaotic ie where another midfielder might take three touches and try to force the game, Pedri can take one, manipulate the opponent’s shape and play the next pass. His best qualities are scanning, body orientation, press resistance, tempo control and positional intelligence.
