It’s now exactly one whole year of war in Sudan. A year of displacement from homes, separation from loved ones.
A whole year of killings, rape, looting and destruction inflicted on Sudan’s people.
🧵A thread || Understanding the war in Sudan.
A year of war in Sudan 🇸🇩
My thoughts as someone who’s lived the war and is still living it.
Share widely!! The world needs to enough!
Enough of your silence!
We will never forgive your violence or forget your silence.

Yesterday was heavy.
Today is heavy.
And tomorrow even more so.
If the bullets don’t kill us the famine will. There’s been no respite, no let up for a whole year. And the next few months are going to be beyond catastrophic.
Where is home? A question that I always struggled answering. Is it the West where I grew up? Is home being with my loved ones? At this moment, home to me is the Sudanese people and everything they represent; resiliency, courage, faith, honor and dignity. May Allah protect #Sudan
