🗣️ Edin Terzić: “When you look at the great defenders Sergio Ramos, Virgil van Dijk, Thiago Silva, Giorgio Chiellini they all had that ability to make defending look simple. But what Pau Cubarsí is doing at just 19 years old is incredible.

All week, we planned how to attack him, how to isolate him and how to get the better of him. Then he comes into the match and plays with the calmness of a defender who has been doing this for 15 years. [laughs]

The way he defended against our forwards was exceptional. He read situations before they happened, won important duels and never looked nervous. And then he goes and produces an overhead kick in a defensive situation I honestly haven’t seen a defender do something like that for a long time.

Barcelona deserved the win tonight, but Cubarsí deserves special recognition. There were moments when we thought we had created something dangerous, and he was simply there to stop it.

He’s only 19, but he plays with the maturity of a veteran. Barcelona have something very special in Pau Cubarsí, and tonight he was exceptional in making sure that 2-0 lead stayed a 2-0 lead.”
