#OTD 1965 The first attempted launch, Rebel Ranger, of a #Minuteman II #ICBM from an operationally configured underground silo at Vandenberg AFB, CA conducted by AFSC, was successful. The missile flew 5,000 miles down the AFWTR and its reentry vehicle impacted in the target area.
