Place your golf club down directly behind the golf ball & place an alignment stick half a foot on the outside & on the inside of the ball line at a similar angle your club sits at address
Your backswing must work through the 2 alignment sticks 🙂
This will help improve the backswing & downswing path for a stock pitch shot 👊
I do this drill a lot at home.
This drill is part of my personal Blueprint.
Especially with my irons it always gets me back to squaring the face properly.

Let’s clean up your over the top with proper shoulder tilts to start with goes a long way. Here is a good visual to think about there your shoulders/ chest is pointing in your swing. Your arms are going to swing down where your shoulders are aimed. Start slow and build up
Stop SHALLOWING the club!
There can be such a thing as "too shallow". If the clubhead gets too far behind you, there's a potential that you'll suffer from the following:
- Fats
- Thins
- Blocks
- Hooks
If you are going to shallow it this much, you need SO MUCH body rotation to get the club back in front of you
For this particular player, he needed to be STEEPER! Make sure your coach is willing to teach both shallowing & steepening if & when needed 👊
