My favorite presentation of the semester was from Harold D’Souza, @hvdsouza. I was shocked to learn that human trafficking is a $150 billion industry. His passion for helping others and advice to be happy, think positive and believe in yourself was moving. #ucchangestheworld

I was moved by how the @LivingOnOne documentary pointed out that hearing the lived experiences of those in extreme poverty and taking the time/being able to understand their story changes everything. #ucchangestheworld

During the @LivingonOne documentary they pointed out how there are more people not in poverty than there are in extreme poverty. I was inspired by the statement about how individuals helping other individuals could make a huge impact. #ucchangestheworld

One thing I learned from Lindsay Barta this week was how @MagnifiedGiving empowers young philanthropists to serve and evaluate nonprofits, and how their work impacted her as a leader in the nonprofit community. #ucchangestheworld

This week we heard from Lexi Brown, an @AmeriCorps VISTA. She informed us that there are options for people of all ages and backgrounds to serve from 3 months to a year in an area they are passionate about while serving their community #ucchangestheworld

This week I learned from @OneSightOrg that lack of proper vision care does not get a lot of awareness. Giving someone a pair of glasses can increase their work productivity by 35% and double a child’s learning #ucchangestheworld

During his thesis at @YaleSPH, Anthony Russell listened to the needs of refugees in Ghana and was able to provide recommendations to help with the food insecurity and nutrition issues they were facing. @uofcincyalumni #ucchangestheworld

This week I learned from @JosephinesCincy how important it is to fight the stigma against sexual assault victims, and how this stigma prevents victims – particularly young men – from speaking up. #ucchangestheworld

1000 children die every day from their drinking water, which is more than die from AIDS and malaria combined. Giving just $7.50 to @ProctorGamble’s Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program gives clean water to a child for a year. #ForceForGood #ucchangestheworld
