Hard to take seriously TX legislators’ claims of caring about students. When they receive reports on teacher shortages & districts struggling to keep the lights on, they do nothing. When they hear rumors of kids role playing animals, they jump to action. https://t.co/v0BO5BoVdn
Voucher supporters won’t cap income on vouchers.
They won’t ban rich families from sending gifts to get their kids to the top of the line.
They rig the game, then make you pay for it.
Still think vouchers aren’t a scam? Watch @GinaForAustin break it down.
13 years of teaching…. 4 school districts, 4 different cities/towns .
Never…. Not a single time have I heard a teacher or heard a student talk about being taught to hate this country.
#ScareTactics 🤡 🤡 🤡
Abbott and Patrick have been promising to fix public schools for a decade. 10 YEARS.
Things have only gotten WORSE... because they are only interested in TAKING MONEY from our schools and giving it to their rich donors.
Maybe you should stop believing their lies?
@EricLDaugh Not sure how this is responsible reporting? Why should we be celebrating the groveling of leaders to Trump? Not very Christ like if you ask me.
@GovAbbottPress Cancel the STARR! Equalize the playing field instead of playing to your favorites! If private schools get money, then they get STARR as well!
Standardized tests have NO place in elementary education. They’re developmentally inappropriate for young children, who are still building essential cognitive skills like problem-solving, abstract thinking, and impulse control. Many also lack the fine motor skills or experience with computers needed for these assessments. These tests are designed for older students or adults and don't align with how young children learn—through exploration, play, and hands-on experiences.
@GregAbbott_TX Not just Democrats oppose this. Many conservatives see this as a way to bloat the Texas government even further creating a new layer of bureaucracy.
Public schools take everyone! Special education students, kids who don’t want to be at school, first generation Americans, and kids with criminal backgrounds. Private schools are not held to state standards on testing etc… why are their kids worth 10,000 and ours 6,500?
So if the key to better schools are more funding, no STAAR tests & selection….Our Texas Gov. wants to give private schools $10,000, no STAAR test & be able to choose your students….why @GovAbbott won’t you allow public schools to do the same?
Greg Abbott gave our schools $0 in new funding for 4 years. Now he wants to take away millions more.
Here’s how much we’d lose in Houston ISD if a large voucher is implemented: $75,468,941.

Private school vouchers are a billionaire-backed effort to divert your taxpayer dollars from local schools to unaccountable private schools. #TXlege

I have a grand idea Governor- how about you meet with public education leaders in your office to discuss vouchers? I have a feeling you would get an entirely different response from people that are actually in the arena working with our kids to make a difference!
@DanPatrick@POTUS You are choosing 100000 over the 5.8 million of kids in public schools. We already have choice in Texas! Not very conservative to grow the government with new positions to oversee “choice”. Help make the system in place better not worse!
@GregAbbott_TX Isn’t the one size fits all education system the one you have been in charge of the last decade? You installed the head of the TEA. It’s on you if the schools are failing. Let’s not grow the government and fix what is already in place.
