Please fact-check me: Almost 70% of Nigerians who apply for a United Kingdom visa are approved. Almost 60% of Nigerians applying for an American visa are accepted. Slightly over 50% of Nigerians who apply for Canadian visas are granted visas.
In addition, Nigerian citizens have visa-free access to at least 44 countries (actually more).
Also, Nigeria's passport rose to 89th out of 199 countries on the Henley Passport Index, up from 94 in 2025 and 98 in 2022. What this means is that the Nigerian passport is STRONGER than more than half of all the passports on Earth.
So, in conclusion, we have to be circumspect about our choice of words and not confuse personal experiences with national situations.
Nigerians are not trapped in Nigeria, nor is Nigeria scorned by the rest of the world. Time Out magazine of London listed Lagos as the 19th-best place to live on Earth, and Detty December became the single biggest tourist event in Africa, drawing 1.2 million visitors to Lagos annually.
Also, Foreign Direct Investment inflows into Nigeria hit an 11-year high in 2025, according to the World Investment Report 2026, released on Tuesday, July 2, 2026, by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Per UNCTAD, FDI into Nigeria increased by 148.4% to $4 billion in 2025, from $1.61 billion in 2024.
If an individual is denied a visa, it is usually due to their specific circumstances and is not a reflection of, or a judgment on, their country of origin.
Nigeria has given us so much. Many of us have risen from humble circumstances to achieve fame and fortune because of the Nigerian nation and its people. Let us therefore be prudent and not de-market the nation that has given us so much. Nigeria is not finished. Nigeria is blessed!

@arojinle1 Those who illegally kill protectedg wildlife should be a brought to justice. Let’s say NO to the unnecessary killing of our wildlife. Every species plays an important role in nature.

@arojinle1 I think the government should pass stronger laws to protect all our wildlife. This is 2026 our wild animals deserve protection, not needless killing. Even when wild animals wander into towns, the priority should be to rescue and relocate them whenever possible, not kill them.
A lady visited Orlando, Florida—the same city the late Sir Sikiru Ayinde Barrister sang about in the 1980s—and used that very song to soundtrack her experience there. Decades later, his music still captures the city so vividly, proving that music can preserve history.
“When China made me an offer and I saw the salary, I couldn’t sleep for two days 😭. My wife told me, ‘You could break your leg playing for Chelsea tomorrow.’ We’re from Brazil and have a big family… so I accepted.”

⚖️ BREAKING 🇳🇬: Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo has demanded a public apology from Peter Obi, saying CCTV footage shows the former Labour Party presidential candidate's vehicle was rightly clamped at the Abuja airport for violating parking regulations.
Keyamo said Obi's police driver left the vehicle unattended for about 30 minutes in a prohibited drop-off zone, creating a security risk before airport officials clamped the tyres.
The minister also said Obi used his influence to secure the vehicle's release without paying the mandatory ₦25,000 fine.
Keyamo has given Obi one week to publicly apologise to airport staff and pay the fine, warning that FAAN will be directed to take further action if he fails to comply.
I congratulate Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani on his turbaning today as the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin.
This is a great honour, but also a profound responsibility. He comes from a family with a long tradition of religious leadership in our Emirate, and with his deep grounding in Islamic scholarship, he now carries that mantle forward.
I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him the wisdom and strength to lead with humility and serve the Muslim Ummah faithfully.
I also congratulate His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on this important occasion. May Allah (SWT) continue to preserve the peace, unity and values that have long defined the Ilorin Emirate. Ameen.
