I love that anytime some bootlicker claims that localization is perfectly fine and people "don't know the nuance" they get flooded by a fucking tsunami of the most infuriating examples, because there are so many cases it cannot possibly be blamed on "nitpicking"
There's no value in recommending anime to someone who "hates anime." Anime is a medium, there are a variety of genres within & while there are shared elements across genres, it's really not that hard to find something suited to your tastes if you're really open to it.
This is the equivalent of asking someone to recommend a pizza to someone who hates pizza or video games to someone who hates video games.
It's okay to not like anime, but that's where it should end. Move on & find something else to enjoy, because anime shouldn't have to change to appeal to people who will genuinely not enjoy longstanding elements of the medium.
The concepts of "mass appeal" & "X is for everyone" is how we end up here; people who would never be interested in something trying to get into something that has become mainstream & then inevitably wanting to water it down to match their sensibilities.
Not everything is for everyone & it shouldn't have to be. Anime is a reflection of Japanese creativity, they don't need to consider how people half a world a way will feel about it. Engaging with Japanese media is a privilege, not a right.
Take it as it is or leave it alone.
Muchas entraron al medio solamente por moda.
No lo consumen, ni lo entienden...
Son VTubers "normies".
¿Cómo es posible que no tengan una Oshi?
Sacrilegio!! Blasfemia!! Pecado!! Herejía!! 🛐
Not gonna go into which of those games are "conservative" or "leftie", specially because most of the time they're neither, but i'll say woketards have to begin to understand that you're not some intellectual media literacy master who knows the "correct" ideology of games; you're just pushing your own ideologies into the games to arrive at the conclusion you want and then presenting it as the smart take, and you can do that with any ideology
You claim every game in the planet is "anti-capitalist" to then have the literal creators of the games saying that has nothing to do with the game. You claim every game that has any gay or black character appearing even tangentially is "woke", and then you make up lgbt identities for the characters so you can claim them as woke, and you pretend anyone who doesn't read them that way is illiterate, when you're the dumbest mfs in the planet to still keep pretending that Naoto is trans after 20 years of shitshow.
The Japanese throw a lot of things in their games and anime that are inherently right with or can be interpreted as such. Jeez most of shonen and anime games are tremendously biologically determinist and the strength of the characters ends up coming from direct genetical inheritance. You watch a sports story and it's never about having fun, it's always super competitive and the only thing that matters is being first and if you're not first why even try?
You can pick any element like those and compile them to pretend the work is right wing, when the author probably had as much intention of making "right wing" than "left wing", which is probably none, but you've never analyzed any of those stories in any way beyond your ideological glasses to see the nuances
It's like the people who claim FF7 is ultra pro-environmentalist because of Barret when the second part of the game makes point of telling you that Barret was wrong, that he was a terrorist causing lots of innocent casualties, that he was just trying to get revenge, that he didn't know anything about what Mako did and only was correct on it due to supreme coincidence, and he goes on to become an Oil tycoon. Sure you can pick up only the first part and interpret it as a pro-environmental game, and there's probably some of that in it. But it's nuanced enough you can also see it as a criticism of environmentalist idiots like Greenpeace
Or the people claiming that One Piece is leftist because the protagonist fights against monarchies... but then he does so to re-instate a previous monarchy ¿?
You can pretend all you want that your favorite Japanese work of art agrees with you but in reality most likely the author was either not saying what you think or they were saying it in a much more nuanced and fair way
You're way too accustomed to shitty western media just being megaphones for your ideas and you should learn the rest of the world doesn't operate like that.
This dude wanted a little bit of fame. He created an entire fantasy story about a Black samurai in Japan. Wikipedia erased the truth.
Then an entire nation revolted, and ended with Ubisoft dead
Finally, he was caught lying about history and disappeared from earth. What a story
