Yesterday was truly special — proud to have co-organized “#BeyondtheSeat” with @NLinUganda, @FOWODE_UGANDA, @FIDA_Uganda & @amwaafrika at the Ambassador’s Residence, engaging newly elected women MPs on Parliament & Gender Equality.

This built on our earlier training for newly elected women MPs at Hotel Africana, continuing our commitment to equipping women parliamentarians as they navigate their new roles.

Chief Guest Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga @RebeccaKadagaUG challenged our women MPs to set concrete five-year targets, beginning with ensuring access to sanitary pads for women, especially those in prisons. She also commended Amb. Frederieke Quispel @FrederiekeQ for her consistent commitment to advancing the women’s agenda.

Kadaga thanked the partner organizations for their continued support to women and pledged her own unwavering support going forward. The MPs also strongly condemned the mishandling of women during arbitrary arrests, while @UKinUganda’s Lisa Chesney called for deeper collaboration between Members of Parliament and women’s rights organizations to ensure women remain at the center of Uganda’s development agenda.

Our Executive Director @loice_otafiire left the newly elected leaders with a powerful reminder:
“As you sit in those chambers, do not forget that Parliament begins from under that mango tree at home.”

She encouraged them to remain rooted in the communities that entrusted them with leadership, to listen to the voices of ordinary Ugandans, and above all, to put God at the center of everything they do.

Deeply grateful to Amb. Frederieke Quispel for her unwavering support to Elevate Her Uganda over the past four years. Thank you for believing in us and in the power of women’s leadership. 🙏

On Saturday, I had the privilege of providing prosthetic limbs to more than 40 amputees from Tororo and neighbouring districts. Beneficiaries were assessed, measured, and had castings taken for custom prosthetic limbs, giving them the opportunity to regain mobility, independence, and dignity, courtesy of the Suman Foundation.

The overwhelming turnout highlighted the immense need for such interventions, reaffirming the importance of bringing essential healthcare services closer to our people. Healthcare remains one of the key pillars of my manifesto, and this outreach formed part of several health initiatives we carried out over the weekend.

My sincere appreciation goes to the Suman Foundation and everyone who contributed to making this outreach a success.

Yesterday, I had the honour of serving as the Guest of Honour at the launch of In the Eyes of an Orphan by @PBKagyezi.

What a masterpiece.

This is more than a book....it's a deeply moving testimony of loss, resilience, healing, and purpose. Through his personal journey of becoming an orphan at a young age, @PBKagyezi reminds us that our pain does not define our destiny, and that hope can emerge even from our darkest moments.

So i applaud him for his courage in sharing such a powerful story and for using his experience to advocate for the emotional well-being and empowerment of young people through the vision of Youth Social Centres across Uganda.

On that note...i encourage parents, young people, leaders, educators, and all who care about the future of our nation to get a copy of this book. Read it, reflect on it and allow it to challenge and inspire you.

Congratulations, @PBKagyezi on this remarkable achievement.

Can the Media Centre also serve as a central hub for advertising government job opportunities? For example, vacancies across various ministries, government departments, and agencies could be posted in one place.

Where can a graduate currently go to find all available government openings? It would be beneficial to first centralize government job advertisements so that citizens can easily access and track opportunities from a single platform.

Yesterday our Executive Director @loice_otafiire for follow up visited elevate her women #EmpoweredKingdomChurch-Butabika group that we had supported with chicks for the backyard poultry farming. These women have embarked on income generating projects too.

From the poultry income generated: they are now making liquid soap, shampoo and jik which they sell to earn a living as well as increase on their household income.
