I am not a spurs fan but I envy spurs fans.
Roberto De Zerbi is a proper manager, tho below Ruben Amorim but he’s commanding ambition at Spurs.
That midfield of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali would bang.
You may curse me but I won’t be shocked if they complete the double against us next season.
🗣️ Mateus Cunha: Amorim is one of the major reasons I came here, He explained my role to me perfectly and I felt comfortable with it.
🗣️ Bryan Mbeumo: Amorim convinced me and I only wanted United after Amorim’s pitch to me.
These are the signings that were engineered by INEOS, right?? Keep trying so hard to hate and discredit Amorim but One thing I will keep saying is that “it may take time but surely, everyone will know what Ruben Amorim wanted for this club.”
- Sir Alex Ferguson personally met with Ronaldo to convince him to choose United over Arsenal.
- He personally met with Van Persie to persuade him to join United.
- He personally travelled to London to convince Smalling to choose United.
- He personally persuaded Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic to join the club.
United were the most successful club in England in SAF’s era, and he still had to actively convince players to join.
Now, apparently players should just run to Manchester the moment INEOS show interest and turn down every other offer simply because they should choose “The Project”.
Yeah, what a great strategy... 😭
The crazy part? Amorim told INEOS he wouldn’t change his formation if he joined the club and they accepted that.
They knew exactly what they were getting, yet still hired a back 3 coach to manage a squad built for a back 4.
So the worst thing here is not Amorim refusing to adapt but INEOS hiring him in the first place. I hope Berrada understands that...
I think we’re starting to see why Amorim wanted to be a manager and not just a head coach.
This transfer window has highlighted it perfectly.
If the board needs pushing, the pressure has to come from the manager. Carrick is many things, but he’s not the type to publicly or privately force the issue.
Look at De Zerbi at Spurs. You can see the ambition and influence he has on recruitment.
Like it or not, Amorim played a huge role in getting deals like Cunha, Mbeumo, Šeško and Lammens over the line. But let’s keep lying to ourselves
Idc if you don’t score a single goal for the rest of the tournament.. you’ll always be my GOAT. A lot of people only know the end of the story, but most of us fans were there when you were writing it. Go well idolo ❤️
