This Messi-Ronaldo conversation can not be about football 'cos there's nothing to compare. The people who choose Ronaldo over Messi can't do so over football. It's an individual thing. They like the person Ronaldo, his looks, physique, work ethics and style but definitely not over football.
People compare Vitinha and Pedri as if they're operating on the same level, but for me the gap is much bigger than that. Vitinha is a brilliant midfielder and deserves all the praise he's getting, but Pedri's understanding of the game is simply extraordinary. The way he controls tempo, manipulates space, escapes pressure, and dictates entire matches is something very few midfielders in history have been capable of doing.
What's even more impressive is that Pedri has rarely had the luxury of playing in a fully functioning superteam. Vitinha is thriving in an elite PSG setup surrounded by world-class structure and talent. Give Pedri that same environment and we'd be talking about a player capable of defining a generation, perhaps even reaching levels that very few midfielders before him have ever touched.
All these rubbish wey these Portugal players Dey do, if them try am for Argentina them no go call them up
Again, anybody wey stress Messi small them don bench am.
I’m one of the relatively few people here lucky (see: old 😂) enough to have watched Lionel Messi’s entire career.
Every World Cup match, every minute at Barcelona, ~every MLS game.
Teenager, prodigy, master, legend.
Watching him light up the world’s biggest stage at 38 affirms why I won’t even entertain any comparison to his greatness, at any age, (esp when 99% of ppl here didn’t watch his earliest years).
Peerless, the best ever.
Shivers down my fucking spine. The man who was the shining light when times got tough for me, and the man who had my unconditional love and support when times got tough for him. A tear is rolling down my cheek as I type this. Let's climb the mountain one more time Leo. Vamos.
Mbappe is one of the greatest World Cup players of our lifetime.
The amount of forced nonsense I see (mostly from rivals) ~every time he plays is funny.
Give me his “bad” performance and “useless” hat tricks any time. Lol
Xi Jinping rose through Chinese politics in part by helping organize what is still regarded as one of the greatest Olympic Games of all time.
I’d bet that with him still serving as president, if China were to host a FIFA World Cup, it would set the bar so high that it might not be surpassed for the next 50 years.
