On this day in 2000, the Camp David peace talks ended.

Yasser Arafat was offered a Palestinian state on a silver platter. As Bill Clinton later lamented: "I killed myself to give the Palestinians a state."

Arafat rejected it. Instead, he launched the 2nd Intifada, unleashing years of suicide bombings and terror.

Twenty-six years later, and after the horrors of Oct. 7, nothing has changed and the central obstacle to peace remains a Palestinian leadership that continues to choose violence and rejection, over peace and hope.

Un entretien de Göring avec un psychologue

🔸Déjà emprisonné pendant le procès de Nuremberg, Hermann Göring accorda un entretien au psychologue Gustave Gilbert.

Göring déclara :

« Bien sûr, les gens ne veulent pas la guerre. Pourquoi donc un simple paysan accepterait-il de risquer sa vie, alors que le meilleur résultat qu’il puisse espérer d’une guerre est de rentrer chez lui vivant et en bonne santé ?

Bien sûr que le peuple ne veut pas la guerre. Personne ne veut la guerre, ni en Russie, ni en Angleterre, ni en Amérique, ni même en Allemagne. C’est une évidence.

Mais, en fin de compte, ce sont les dirigeants qui déterminent la politique d’un pays. Et il est très facile d’amener le peuple à soutenir cette politique. Peu importe qu’il s’agisse d’une démocratie, du communisme, d’un parlement ou d’une dictature fasciste. »

🔸Gilbert lui objecta alors :

« Mais il existe une différence dans une démocratie : le peuple a la possibilité de faire entendre sa voix par l’intermédiaire de ses représentants élus. »

À cela, Göring répondit :

« C’est très bien en théorie, mais que le peuple ait une voix ou non, on peut toujours le contraindre à obéir. C’est simple : il suffit de lui dire qu’il est attaqué. Ensuite, il faut accuser les pacifistes de manquer de patriotisme et de mettre le pays en danger. Cela fonctionne dans n’importe quel pays. »

Da es eine Gruppierung mit dem Namen "Queers for Palestine" gibt, ist es wichtig, hinsichtlich der Herkunft des mutmasslichen Täters vom gestrigen Terroranschlag vollständige Transparenz zu schaffen, um die strukturell antisemitische Queer Theory Bewegung damit zu konfrontieren.
