There is no evidence to date that PTAs have more adverse events than PTs when using spinal/extremity non-thrust mobilization or thrust manipulation.
Why is @AAOMPT trying to stop PTAs from using non-thrust & thrust manipulation (a non-invasive procedure)? Seems to be more about protection of themselves, not protection of the public.
PTAs in AL, AZ, IL, KY & TX can already legally use #dryneedling (an invasive procedure) @APTA_official

Congrats 🎉 to the 52 new graduates 🎓 of the #AAMTFellowship in Reno at #AAOMPT2025 and well done AAMT faculty for achieving 14 peer-reviewed journal publications in 2025. Brilliant🔝 team work by all. https://t.co/zZHvI4aXhb
Super proud of the hard work that each of 52 #AAMTFellowship graduates put in over the past 12-months to attain the FAAOMPT credential. What an inspiring weekend in #Reno at #AAOMPT2025

If you are a PT in Massachusetts, call & email (and do NOT vote for) Julian Cyr @JulianCyr (State Senator for Cape Cod & the Islands) @APTA_official@APTAMASSIG@Aptaofma
Reason: He introduced SB1402 that will create massive UNNECESSARY hurdles (500 didactic + 150 DN hours) for PTs using #dryneedling in MA. No needle retention, no electric stimulation, AND the “acupuncturists” — who got their degree from strip mall “acupuncture colleges” — will get to test PTs (7-year DPTs) on Clean Needle Technique.
Big political MISCALCULATION by State Senator Julian Cyr. It isn’t about “public safety” — he likely has a relative or close friend that is an “acupuncturist”.

Effective immediately: all “acupuncturists” with degrees from strip mall “colleges” are banned from taking AAMT’s Certification in Dry Needling coursework.
