@DanielJHannan Isn’t an asset to Russia a Russian asset? He is not a Russian -agent-, true, but he is someone Russia uses, and that makes him a Russian asset.
@JDiamond1 “led captors to kill their hostages”
What in the ever-loving fuck. I simply cannot believe I just read these words from a legitimate journalist. As though, having taken a hostage, I am powerless: I -must- execute the hostage if things turn against me.

We found 24/40 deaths can be traced back to Israeli military actions. That includes direct IDF strikes/gunfire, but also when Israeli military actions led captors to kill their hostages. That's not just us saying that: the IDF has acknowledged that in many of these cases /2
@mattyglesias Does it? Building buildings is not gratuitous; you have to want to spend many years using the building for its purpose. Building fewer factories and hotels is presumably because there is less market for the intended product.
@actingliketommy@smatthewbreeden What year did Kamala run in? Was it 2026, or was it 2024? Are all years interchangeable? Are you ever going to address the point?
@helenlewis This is such a weird chart. Chinese other than Cantonese or Mandarin is on there, but Cantonese and Mandarin are not. (So they’re under .5%. But then why not grouped?) Other European. “Other languages”. Other East Asian, other African. I feel less informed for seeing it.
@JonahDispatch Huh? The Electoral College thwarts popularity. The reason the more popular candidate did not become president in 2017 is because of the Electoral College. The Electoral College is patently undemocratic. There’s nothing conspiracist about that.
@AshantiVanBuren@CathyYoung63 But disenfranchising women is despicable, and democratizing the legislature is good, so there’s a pretty big difference between them nonetheless.
@ErlineP@ElijahCone Wording is something you can control through conscious choice. Anyone can do it. Being or not being a smooth talker is not a matter of choice.
@OurRevolution@OsseChi@AOC Those of us who saw through woke the first time shouldn’t have to yield an entire political party to a movement that got it spectacularly wrong.

Woke 1 was indeed crazy @OsseChi 😂
This from @AOC matters: movements grow. People evolve. And Francesca Hong has shown exactly that — without abandoning the working-class politics that made her a force in the first place.
Free childcare. Publicly owned groceries. Tax the billionaires. Deliver for working people. That’s the coalition that will for the working class voters of Wisconsin.
@DrLight66@lolsooj@lxeagle17 I don’t believe that’s what Lakshya meant by ‘implosion’, and if it is, then I disagree that this was the most spectacular example in recent memory. Lots of candidates get eviscerated and do badly in the media.
@lolsooj@lxeagle17 You have missed my point. If the polls were just wrong (“done with an extremely poor methodology”), then there was no implosion. They thought she was doing well, but she was not.
