Yes. This should definitely have been in the final cut. IMO, it adds an emotional depth that is missed in the final few minutes of the movie that is executed very well, and it also adds the iconic "with great power" message that went missing. Shame for sure!

This deleted scene from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 reveals that Richard Parker actually survived the plane crash.

Years later, he secretly returned and confronted Peter at Gwen’s grave, revealing that he had been alive all along.
