@RCOT_Gen Thank you for sharing our teams innovation. Thank you to @LyndsayCourtOT who set up the initial 6 month fcp pilot alongside physiotherapy before the OT only service was commissioned by the PCN GP’s with myself. @OTJme and Hannah Molloy for continuing the fcp service
@FaithSchoolOT @RCOT_Gen However, as I was unable to complete collecting updated parent feedback prior to maternity leave this was not included. This will be continued by my colleagues as an on-going part of evaluating the service.
@FaithSchoolOT @RCOT_Gen The service is intended as a more immediate resource to parents, if further appointments are needed in the future parents can re-book with their GP practice as required. Although not published in the article, parent feedback has been gathered by questionnaire.
@FaithSchoolOT @RCOT_Gen where advice may be given for a specific area of need and if needed as a part of the service the FCP team can directly refer on to the local children’s therapy services OT’s who will carry out assessment and interventions for more long-term needs.
@FaithSchoolOT @RCOT_Gen Thank you for your comment, parents experience is an essential part of our service. The first contact practitioner service within GPs is not intended as a long-term intervention service. For families accessing our specialist service this can be the first time meeting a paeds OT.
@OT_CarersUnite @RCOT_Gen The first contact practitioner service within GP’s is for some parents the first point of contact to a specialist paediatric service, as a result often sign posting to a range of local services, free resources and training can be invaluable.

I've emailed my MP to share how inflation, cost of living & pay scales in the NHS are crucial in affecting staff retention, recruitment & patient services where I work. As well as impact on staff shortages & morale. Will you join me and share your story? https://t.co/rj7CkNMT5t
