@ScrotorTB The issue is that the eldar don't need to pick this fight. Its not a maiden world. Its not in service to a greater prophecy. Its just to keep the humans off a world that had some religious meaning eons ago. Staggeringly out of character for the Craftworlds.
@Ainastrasza It puts a human face on a deific image. It brings down the mythic to the real. Yes, he is mythic in stature and look however he is still a human. It means that when others look to things like him they know they are not gods either but products of science and knowledge.
@Ainastrasza I really can't judge. There are few things Ranch Style Beans don't go with for me as an American. Baked Beans tend to be a bit sweeter, but the taste could totally work with the marinara.
@Reddevil347@Aeldarellie The reason in the series given is not a prophecy. Its that they're protecting this planet because their gods once walked there. Their gods are dead, they have limited people and resources and worlds that need protecting. Maiden Worlds. Its such a needless conflict.
@Dante45p They actually don't. There are a few comments in some books but they run contrary to the general veneration of the Ecclesiarchy has for the Space Marines. Less orthodoxic space marine chapter cults would likely be seen poorly but the Black Templar would are viewed quite well.
@vonvonvilie@raltheon the issue is that's just lame. If its all bad because of incompetence, then there's nothing noble worth saving. humans just suck. The story only works if the magnitude of the problem necessitates the bleakness.
@paleochristcon Not wanting to really get after you, but I think Anthony actually had a paid for private attorney. I think the public attorney accusation is just a meme that's gone around.
@RazorFist While there are plenty of slop games put out by Games Workshop just whoring out their IP for a couple nickles, I really don't agree that the Owlcat games are slop games. They're based on the really strong Fantasy Flight Warhammer 40k table top rpg's that came out in 2010's.
@Ainastrasza@Nerdcognito Its still like heavy theater kid approach to DnD that is overtaking the entire hobby. Which is to say people who aren't interested in that are rightful to be a bit incredulous that all the new investment into the hobby barely caters to that side of things.
@Tyrsenus I think that's why its a bad joke. You have to he seven layers of obsession with this kind of shit to think ah yes September 10th, the day Charlie Kirk was murdered.
@NotAmberBerries@Dork___Fish It doesnt really work because no one but brain dead political weirdos are going to know Kirk was September 10th. Just a guy trying to look cool to the people that hold the same ideology as the guy who killed Kirk, albeit the killer was far more radical.
@ScanlineToast@Ainastrasza And why would you try and explain it? Instead of just exploring more worlds or myths, you instead pull back the curtain to try and explain a very likely super contradictory system when you could just explore another mythology and its rules/conflict
@Mrkanoe1@Ainastrasza If they really want to pull the curtain back and explain what is suppose to be a mystery to gods of the setting, I suppose that's a choice. Not a very good one.
@HMBohemond As an Eldar fan its a bit absurd to say they arent tainted but so are humans. Without some protective psychic force and with chaos so ascendant once you die your soul is devoured by the warp . Its somewhat shown that the Emperor does indeed protect much like Ynead is able to.
