“That was mean of me…
(I should have texted you)
Sorry I was so late…”
Ah, Kwon Jaeyi, you’re downbadding BAD right now and you don’t even know it.

Due to personal reasons, I couldn’t post my analysis on time. 😭
Once again, today’s chapter reminded me why I love Jaeyi and Ideum’s dynamic so much: they communicate.
The first thing we see is Jaeyi rushing over to see Ideum. He even thinks to himself that everything got so hectic he didn’t even have the chance to text him. You can tell he hurried there because he wanted to see Ideum as soon as possible.
Then Ideum does something I really appreciate. Instead of keeping everything bottled up, he tells Jaeyi how he felt. He doesn’t stay silent or pretend everything is okay.
And Jaeyi’s reaction is what I loved the most. He doesn’t get defensive, make excuses, or dismiss Ideum’s feelings. Instead, he acknowledges the mistake he made and recognizes how his actions made Ideum feel.
I feel like this is such a rare dynamic in manhwas nowadays. Usually one character bottles everything up, or the other simply does whatever they want without taking responsibility. Even when they know they were wrong, they rarely acknowledge it.
Jaeyi is different.
He listens, reflects on his actions, admits that he made a mistake, and doesn’t ignore Ideum’s feelings. At the same time, he gives Ideum the space to express himself without making him feel guilty for doing so.
And I absolutely love that. They’re building their relationship through communication, respect, and trust, and to me, that’s one of the most beautiful things about this story.
