PRESIDENT TINUBU GOES ON HOLIDAY AGAIN
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again left Nigeria for another holiday, this time beginning a three-week vacation in Europe.
Nigeria is in deep crisis. Nigerians can barely afford food and transportation. Insecurity is ravaging communities, and thousands of children are unable to access education because of insecurity.
Just days ago, about 600 Nigerians, predominantly women, children, and the elderly, were reportedly abducted during Juma’at prayers in Niger State.
Yet, at this critical moment, the President has left the country for another holiday.
According to reports, government expenditure on presidential trips and related travel expenses between June 2023 and April 2026 amounted to about ₦37.64 billion, with the President spending approximately 261 days outside Nigeria.
Meanwhile, only ₦36 million was reportedly released to the Federal Ministry of Health in 2025, despite a capital allocation of ₦218 billion, in a country of over 230 million people.
This is the calamity befalling our country today.
A government that can spend tens of billions on presidential travel while critical sectors remain starved of funds, and Nigerians are asked to endure worsening hardship, must not be allowed to continue.
Leadership is about priorities.
When citizens cannot feed their families, move safely, access healthcare, send their children to school, or sleep peacefully in their homes, the President should be more concerned about fixing the country than repeatedly leaving it.
I look forward to a Nigeria where our President can vacation in Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Cross River State, Bauchi, Ebonyi, and many other destinations across our country.
The President of Nigeria should be the chief marketer of Nigeria as a tourism destination, as other comparable countries do.
Imagine the economic possibilities if our leaders, celebrities, business communities, and citizens travelled within Nigeria more frequently.
Tourism creates jobs. It supports hospitality, transportation, agriculture, entertainment, crafts, and small businesses. It brings investment and foreign exchange and allows communities to benefit directly from their natural and cultural assets.
We cannot continue to export our wealth and import our pleasures while our own enormous potential remains neglected.
We deserve leadership that puts Nigeria first; leadership that cares and plans for a better Nigeria. That is the kind of leadership that the partnership between H.E. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and me will bring.

Beyond Football: The Match for a Better Nigeria
This weekend, Europe comes alive again with football. Millions of Nigerian youths will be glued to television screens, streaming matches, debating tactics, celebrating victories, and admiring the organisation, discipline, and excellence that make European football the envy of the world. But here is a question worth asking: Why can’t Nigerian football be just as good?
The answer is not a lack of talent. Nigeria has produced world-class footballers who have excelled in Europe because they found systems that reward merit, invest in infrastructure, ensure security, and are governed with competence and accountability. Great football does not exist in isolation. It grows where there is good governance.
The stadiums, academies, transport systems, healthcare, security, electricity, and institutions that support football are products of leaders who make the right choices and citizens who insist on accountability. Nigeria has the talent. What we have lacked is leadership that creates an enabling environment for that talent to flourish.
As I have decided, in the next 150 days, to engage Nigerian youths wherever they gather—in town halls, campuses, online spaces, and even football communities—my message is simple: The future you admire in Europe can be built in Nigeria. But it starts with your vote.
Imagine a Nigeria where our local league is competitive, our stadiums are full every weekend, our clubs attract sponsorship, our coaches receive proper training, and young footballers no longer see emigration as their only path to success.
Nigeria will not emerge through wishful thinking. It will emerge when young Nigerians decide that elections matter as much as football matches. Every goal scored in Europe is a reminder that excellence is possible. Every well-managed league is proof that systems work when honest leadership is in place.
The 2027 presidential election is therefore more than a political contest. It is an opportunity for Nigerian youths to choose the kind of country they want—a nation that exports talent because it is respected, not because its citizens are escaping failed governance.
Cheer for Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, Inter, AC Milan, or any club you support. Enjoy every match. But when the final whistle blows, remember that the greatest match awaiting Nigerian youths is not in Europe. It is in Nigeria.
It is the match for good governance. It is the match for jobs, security, education, sports development, and national renewal. And unlike football, where only twenty-two players are on the pitch, every Nigerian youth has a place in this match.
Stand up. Mobilise. Vote. Defend your vote.
If Nigerian youths can passionately follow European football every weekend, they can also passionately build a Nigeria where our own football—and our nation—becomes a source of pride.
The journey towards better Nigerian football begins with the path to good governance. And the path to good governance begins with the decision of Nigerian youths to stand up and be counted in 2027.
Every weekend, starting today, I will come to you with a reminder of January 16, 2027, and our future. We can create world-class standards right here at home.
It’s in your hands, and that new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
My Fellow Nigerians,
No One Is Coming To Save Us
2025 ended yesterday. It was a year that drained us individually and collectively. It tested our faiths in ways so unimaginable that many have been left shell shocked! We are still reeling at what 2025 presented to Nigeria.Whatever atrocity there was to be witnessed, was witnessed in our land. Our land was severally desecrated, unimaginable pain and suffering inflicted on the people.
We watched hopelessly as fellow citizens were hunted down like wild animals and killed. We watched as accidents that were avoidable brought pain and sorrows to families across the Nation. We watched as hunger became the reality of many homes. We watched as many were kidnapped and disappeared. Our roads became death-traps and kidnappers had field day. Every month in 2025 was a new episode of a horror movie in Nigeria.
Even our spirits took a beating. For the first time the ‘can do’ spirit we Nigerians are known for took a back step and we have been left as a people and a nation questioning whether we were ever it!
I have always said that ‘YESTERDAY’S VICTIMS WERE ONCE SURVIVORS! TODAY’S VICTIMS WERE YESTERDAYS SURVIVORS AND TOMORROW’S VICTIMS WILL BE TODAY’S SURVIVORS. WHO IS NEXT?
We, the survivors of 2025 are the potential victims of 2026and we must put everything in place to ensure that we do not become victims. ‘God forbid’ as we have all seen is not a strategy. For God will not do for us, what he has given us the capacity for us to do for ourselves. We must be the ones to give ourselves the life of greatness we all deserve in a country as blessed as ours.
Waiting for others to come and save us has not worked either. We must stand up and fight for ourselves. We mustdemand for a better life. This 2026, we must fight for our lives. We are not helpless. We chose to do nothing collectively and that can change today! Individually we have tried our best. It is time to move beyond what divides us and focus on what unite us and can benefit all of us.Good governance, accountability and transparency will benefit all of us. So will equity and justice. We all will benefit when there is peace and security. A Nigeria with a booming economy will be beneficial to us all.
There is no way we can get all the things that are beneficial to us collectively without collectively ensuring we put those who can best manage our affairs in political offices. To fix Nigeria, we must first fix politics in Nigeria.Politics is no longer just an option; it has become a necessity! Political participation is how we can determine those who will govern and either serve us collectively or serve themselves individually. No nation that has succeeded has done so without first ensuring that those who got into political offices are those going to work for the collective good of the people.
I therefore call on the good people of Nigeria to remove the spirit of ‘politics is dirty’ from our body and souls. Participate and clean up politics. The dirty politics we refused to participate in, has brought our country to its knees. Clean politics is what we need to take our country to the peak. Until we participate, we cannot clean it up.
Enough of the pity parties we hold. Enough of the lamentations and talks. Enough of the self-defeatism. Enough of the fear and cowardice. Let 2026 be the year we fight for ourselves by ourselves. Let us not burden a few with the duty of speaking for us all. Let us all work towards the collective good that will be beneficial to us all.
We have seen in the last couple of years how lots ofcitizens have taken ownership of their voices. It has beena beautiful thing to watch evolve. Many more can also take ownership of their voices and our collective voices can be better amplified with political participation.
To the younger generation, do not make the mistake that my generation and the ones before us made. We thought politics was dirty and beneath us.
One more word to those few who would listen:
There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you are going through today, sweet or bitter, comfortable or distasteful that YOU did not by your thoughts, words or deeds, call forth into your tapestry of fate YOURSELF sometime in the PAST. In this life one of your PREVIOUS lives. Not one!
Believing this or not is immaterial. Man’s little opinions or beliefs or cooperation in this is IMMATERIAL. Not needed at all.
Protesting against life is futile. Even a wrong attitude towards your pains which you called forth yourself is another call for future suffering even after this one. This is how severe life is. But in it all lies LOVE.
Only with the RIGHT attitude do you, through your experiences, mature spiritually and swing yourself upwards which is the reason you are on earth in the first place.
Those who have the right attitude to the most bitter experiences always reap such good fruits in the future, a future determined by the Inexorable Laws of the Almighty which bear His Will, not the human timetable.
Cursing life and rejecting it cos of your bitter experiences only WORSENS your path and prolongs your suffering. You either swing in harmony with the Laws of Life or BREAK and get blown out. This is the Law. You are dealing with the Laws of Almighty God here, not human earthly bendable laws.
Your emotions do not and will not ever matter in the grand machinery of life’s Mill. Know the Laws of your Creator and act accordingly and stay happy in this wonderful Creation of your Maker.
Four successful children. Two living in US. Two living in Canada. 2 doctors. 1 Nurse. One IT expert. All with good families. All too busy to visit Mama in two years. Mama is dead now and we are preparing for "The most befitting Burial ever" for the woman who died lonely.. Sad
When I keep saying that there is no difference between Nigerian "elites" and the average mai ruwa in Tundun-Waziri, it looks like I'm doing too much. Nigeria has one of the world's few truly classless societies where almost everybody genuinely thinks at the same level.
The same lack of foresight that makes the mai ruwa collect spaghetti and N2,000 to vote against his own interest every 4 years, is what makes billionaire industrialists support candidates with zero economic track record, business credentials, or shared geopolitical alignment with them.
If you knew that the APC candidate was a foreign proxy working for external powers who have a vested interest in maintaining Nigeria's lack of industrialisation and its continued cheap export of unprocessed natural resources, why would you, as a business person - whose wealth comes from industrial processes and a growing economy - ever support such a candidate?
This was the same rubbish that the chatterbox, empty-head middle classes did too in 2015, when they carried their Dubai-weekend-visiting, monthly-ASUS-ordering, 7% annual GDP-growing, $510bn economy and handed it over to an illiterate who has still never proved that he completed secondary school, because the Otuoke man with the funny hat had a shouty wife and something something Diezani, something something $20bn, something corruption, something something Chibok.
A society made up of people who cannot visualise the future!
Some people just want a good job, a decently profitable business, a simple liveable house, a working car, a bank account balance that can enable them feed decently everyday and stay happy in their homes. Just a moderate lifestyle with genuine happiness. Nothing concern them with fighting for plenty wealth, desperation for vanity and worship of riches.
