That my name is โObafemiโ does not mean I am a Nigerian. Yoruba people that are non-Nigerians bear the name โObafemiโ. You canโt Nigerianize a name that is not exclusive to Nigeria.
To avoid confusion and conflict the right caption should be โEverybody is doing the Obafemi strut by a (Yoruba-Nigerian) WWE wrestler. This will enable the world to know that this particular Obafemi you are referring to is from Nigeria. Names like Adebayo are prominent in Togo and Benin republic. Now imagine Adebayo, Arsenal legend! He is a Yoruba but not a Nigerian Yoruba. He is a Togolese-Yoruba. So, Obafemi is a Nigerian-Yoruba.
I honestly donโt get why this is triggering people. I agree with her, and letโs be clear about what she actually said.
1. At no point did she say girls who use iPhones are whores or prostitutes. That narrative was manufactured by people looking for offence.
2. She said any girl using a Samsung is GREEN FLAG. ๐ฉ Thatโs not an insult to anyone else.
3. In a country like Nigeria, this is a very valid observation. Thereโs insane social pressure on girls, rich and broke alike, to own an iPhone.
It has become a loud social badge, not just a phone.
So when you see a girl who is perfectly comfortable using a Samsung, it often says something deeper: sheโs less likely to be ruled by peer pressure or external validation. Thatโs just being honest with ourselves.
IPhone has become a social symbol of class especially amongst girls and they do a lot of things to afford one.
The iPhone has become a class symbol, especially among girls, and many go to extreme lengths to afford one. Thatโs the reality.
Ask yourself this: how many girls will genuinely appreciate a high-end Samsung or Tecno the same way theyโll hype an iPhone of the same grade? Very few.
So yes, her statement is valid. People are just reacting emotionally instead of engaging with the point being made.
You people need to STOP this foolishness right now!
This is how you initiate and enable cyberbullying.
Same thing that was done to Maduka Okoye in 2021 and had the young man up in his room crying all night.
Same with Alex Iwobi last tournament that forced him to delete his social media for months.
If you can't find something good to say about a player who goes out there and represents his country, then don't.
Stop jeopardizing the mental health of young men and their families for clicks
@AWholeSalmanPR The reason why older movies were loved is because they were relatable, a zombie movie is nice but we all know Nigeria isn't setup like that. Just look at the police
