Another busy and changing year in fragility fracture of the femur. For attention of all hip fracture leads and trainees looking for that quality improvement project.
Download and change practice! We’ve changed the format to give specific attention to key areas for care improvement and encourage all involved in fragility fracture care to read. Join us @BritOrthopaedic next Wednesday afternoon to discuss this and more! @OTrauma
Four of the nine hospitals from the region taking part in @HasteStudy have contributed over one hundred cases each! Big effort from @SouthTees@NorthumbriaOrth Carlisle and Durham. Newcastle, @sunderlandorth1 Gateshead, Darlington and North Tees in the regional peloton…
Three weeks left! Let’s get this huge study over the line. Join all our previous collaborative authors by ensuring every case is on and every case is completed for all datafields. We are going through each site individually to help get everything tied down. Keep it up!
Great work everyone! Is 7000 on the cards? Focus on data entry for EVERY case. All OTS members can contribute to write up and ideas for themes from the data.
So important we get every patient and every datapoint. Get your dars to 100%! Let us know if you have any particular area of care you want to study. As an @OTrauma study, all of our members can write and contribute. @FF_Network@RCP_FFFAP@FractureHip@SCOT_net
We should break >3500 this weekend! Keep on data collecting! Half way through the study and over 80 centres now contributing. Incredible work from @OTrauma@FractureHip@bota_uk@SouthTeesOrtho

Great to see so many new hospitals joining collaborations with us - welcome! These studies live or die on data completion so it’s vital that all datafields are complete. Sites significantly or repeatedly failing to complete will unfortunately go! Get in touch if any issues.
Congratulations to all! Now the biggest study of its kind. 6 weeks to go. Every consecutive case (averaged against your NHFD figures) must be on and every datapoint complete. Next data quality check at the end of the month - don't leave us because of your data! @bota_uk@OTrauma
Massive congratulations to all our @OTrauma members for making this study happen. No other specialist society can do this at scale. 1822 patients as of tonight, 77 centres. Please pay specific attention to data completion- every patient, every datafield completed for authorship.
Look at the map! 77 sites >1800 cases already. Incredible. Once again the UK @OTrauma community leads the world on multicentre prospective clinical data collection. Data ascertainment is VITAL. Every consecutive case must be on and EVERY datafield has to be complete. Keep going!
Really great to see this @OTrauma study live in so many hospitals! Great effort from our members and @SouthTeesOrtho and @ACeS_SouthTees. Looking forward to the results of this and @StudyKnee soon!
1,158 patients, 70 sites, welcome Milton Keynes and the Royal Lancaster. @HasteStudy is now definitely representative of anticoagulation management in fragility femur fracture patients in the UK. Massive thanks to Reece @ACeS_SouthTees for site set up @otrauma@bota_uk
So important that all datapoints are complete for these large scale prospective studies. The devil is in the detail. We don’t want to lose any collaborators so please do check that all of your data is complete (apart from discharge if they are still an inpatient) !
1,036 patients so far well done! Remember to remain in study all sites must have the first two weeks of data collection 1-14 May complete, all fields green on RedCap by 1st June. Don’t leave us so soon! All other sites joining later next one will be mid June @otrauma@bota_uk
Do you work in UHNM, York, Queens Nottingham, tunbridge wells, addenbrooke’s, Birmingham heartlands, Colchester, Conquest, Doncaster, Frimley Park, Huddersfield, Leeds, Hull, Leicester, Belfast, Ipswich or Poole? @HasteStudy - join before it’s too late!
Great to see so many hospitals of different shapes and sizes taking part. Quality data is important so we need all collaborators to log each consecutive case fully so all datafields go ‘green’ ready for the first data quality check. Incomplete data = no authorship good luck!
Over 60 sites now collaborating! ALL cases must be put on contemporaneously. To qualify for collaborative authorship all fields for every case must be filled in. First data cut and quality check in <2 weeks! @OTrauma@FractureHip@bota_uk@CornetResearch
Does the North East have the most hospitals included in @HasteStudy ? This is a perfect project to combine local service evaluation, national performance assessment and all utilising a collaborative authorship model. Over 50 sites now - don’t get left behind! @bota_uk
Strong showing from the North East! Well done to the registrars and hip fracture teams for making this happen. Are @NorthumbriaOrth going to come top in the numbers? Or will it be @SouthTeesOrtho or @sunderlandorth1 ? Fantastic collaboration @CornetResearch @ACeS_SouthTees
