The Macintosh Apple from Dundela, On, one hour south of Ottawa, was the favourite apple of Apple employee Jef Raskin, who named his 1984 computer after the crisp apple.

I was privileged to visit the astonishing Verucchio Cypress. By mythology the tree was planted 800 years ago by Saint Francis. It was well known when the monastery was built around it 600 years ago.
It illustrates tree resilience and crown reorganisation processes.

Throughout my career there have always been conventions that I was told were right, but didn’t quite sit comfortably with what I was seeing out there in the real tree world. From painting cuts with bitumen in the 1970s, to still being told topping is bad in the 2020s, I had a deep sense that this nonsense must be challenged, which is of course easier thought about than done!

In this presentation, I will draw on my observations from up the trees and my unique experience in court as an expert witness to call out some of the myths that need busting for good because they still confuse, complicate, and confound tree management. From a lifetime of tree and legal insights, I will share some of my top tree tips that seem quite obvious when explained, but often still remain unrecognised in mainstream practice. Of course, you may not agree with all of my conclusions, but it took me 50 years to work a lot of this stuff out, so checking out this webinar would be a great opportunity to make up your own mind, and could shortcut your learning process by decades!
