How I went from 300 views to 2-8k on Instagram✨

First of all I would like to disclose that this is what worked for me, It's not a secret code you need to follow to a T.

Before I had such a hard time to break the 300 - 400 view jail and it was truly disheartening and I felt burned out, so I'm here in hopes on helping smaller vtubers who are starting out and feel lost.

1. Clear Bio
I think this one is a given, your shorts hook the viewer but you also need to maintain a clear profile bio.

(your niche) Vtuber | (what days and hour you go live)
Your email (if you have one)
And your links

2. Reels Description
Before my descriptions would be a one line quote and a spam of #.
People who came across my videos would just see a random moment, they wouldn't know who I am, what I do..

How I solved this?
I started writting longer descriptions instead, where I would introduce myself and I would leave a one line quote about the reel itself if I wanted to.

Here's my current description if you wanna try it out yourself:

3. Just have fun and be your chaotic self
The last one is the most simple yet some people forget.. You don't need to fit into a mold! You want to post variety? DO IT. You want to be a tech vtuber? Be it. You just talk about piss all the time? POST IT.

People on Instagram love fun moments between you and your community, as much as they also love Problem-solving content.

At the end of the day you need to also remember, that this is your jorney, you are not late, you are not worse than the person standing next to you.

📱 YouTube Shorts strategy for vtubers, what actually works in 2026:

shorts are the fastest way to get discovered. but most vtubers use them wrong.

→ Shorts and long-form are different products for different audiences. Shorts get you found. long-form makes people stay. a Short that goes viral won't convert viewers to subscribers unless you bridge the gap intentionally.

→ always pin a comment on your Short linking to the full video. viewers who finish a Short are warm. the pinned comment is the bridge from "short viewer" to "subscriber." don't skip this step.

→ the first 2 seconds of your Short decide if it gets pushed. YouTube measures swipe-away rate immediately. open with the most visually interesting frame. no slow builds.

→ make Shorts that answer a question your long-form answers fully. "why do vtubers fail?" as a 45-second Short, then "watch the full breakdown on my channel" in the pinned comment. this creates a funnel, not just a hit.
