Something truly frightening is happening. As you might know, I used to live in France, still go over a lot, and take an interest in French politics.
I have watched how, simultaneously here and in France, the mainstream news programmes have been giving obscure politicians and activists from the far right a constant platform to air their extremist views.
There has been what Chomsky calls a manufacturing of consent for the likes of Farage, Le Pen, murkily-funded Institute of Economic Affairs, etc., to normalise extremist political views that disrupt social cohesion and dismantle the social security safety net.
We have Farage, who has failed to be elected as an MP 7 times, who is the personification of the hubris that led to a Hard Brexit and the economic chaos of the country, being given wall-to-wall coverage. Every utterance, every brain-fart is analysed and pronounced on. Every possible opportunity to afford him a TV platform is offered.
The same goes for the Far Right in France.
Why?
Who is behind it?
Donald Trump’s friends in Congress blocked a bill that would protect the right to contraception.
Let’s be clear: A second Trump term would mean more harm, more pain, and less freedom.
I have clearly angered the Twitter gods. An algorithm seems to be kicking out my followers without them knowing. If you can help me reach them again by RTing that would be wonderful.
Julia Hartley-Brewer doesn’t understand photosynthesis, or that trees are made mostly out of Carbon.
Don’t RT her stupidity that would be embarrassing.
This test, the chair test, and the knowledge we have about male and female skeletons' body wide proportion differences, all lead to being able to distinguish sex based not simply on how they look as a still frame, but on the lines their bodies trace across time as they move.
My friend @Tony_Robinson - on not taking us back in time, but looking to a brighter future. Could he be on to something? I’d love to see our NHS back on its feet, at least.
I have just voted in the @NEUnion preliminary #PayUp ballot!
@GillianKeegan if this Government won't save our schools and colleges, we will. #InvestInEducation
