Crispy Cheesy Ham Spirals🧀🥓
"Golden, crispy, cheesy, and irresistibly delicious"
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
150 g sliced ham
1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp dried Italian herbs
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Black pepper, to taste
Method:
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Roll the puff pastry into a neat rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
Sprinkle the pastry evenly with garlic powder, Italian herbs, and a little black pepper.
Arrange the ham slices over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
Sprinkle generously with mozzarella/cheddar and Parmesan.
Starting from one long side, roll the pastry tightly into a log.
Chill the log for 15–20 minutes to make slicing easier.
Cut into 2–3 cm thick spirals and place them cut-side up on the prepared tray.
Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with a little extra Parmesan and parsley.
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until puffed, golden, and beautifully crisp.
Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Tip:
For extra crispy spirals, avoid overcrowding the baking tray and serve them warm while the cheese is still deliciously melty. 🧀🥓
I took a quick field trip to Chicago to try one of the world’s most famous pizzas, the deep dish golden crust sausage pie from Gino’s East. See how it’s made & what makes it so spectacular. #chicago#pizza
