& to reiterate I really hold no judgement for ppl who watch games. I've done it plenty of times. the strongest opinion I will hold towards someone who genuinely engages w a game they haven't played & I love is "you should totally play this if given the chance"

sure, you can enjoy fallout without playing any of them, but I don't think you can be a "true" fan. you don't know the weapons, the enemies, the perks, storage management, settlement building, armor stats, special stats..... so on and so forth

I think it's really stupid when people say "what about sports" when talking about whether or not you can be a fan of a game without playing it. like, what about sports? can you answer the question using relevant information or is your argument nothing more than a flimsy analogy

tldr. if you just watch the games you genuinely just don't know what you don't know. u think u know all there is bc you know the storylines, but in massive rpgs (or similar) there's just SO much that you're not getting.
