TIL that Prince was inspired to write 1999 after watching a documentary about Nostradamus. I watched one of those docs as a kid and was absolutely shook. Nice to know that Nostradamus had a grip on all of us in the 80s. #nostradamus#themanwhosawtomorrow#prince
Growing up in the 80s/90s led me to believe the Bermuda Triangle, aliens, hypnosis, the Nazca Lines, spontaneous combustion, and druids would play larger role in my life than they have so far. I blame @TimeLifeUS. Don't grow up, kids. #takemeback#itsatrap#mysteriesoftheunknown
Reading for enjoyment has become harder as I've gotten older. I read for work, for school, w/ our kids...then waste time disassociating online instead of grabbing one of the many unread books sitting around. Adding to my baseline level of "mysteriously gorgeous" sounds good tho.
it sounds hard to believe but reading for enjoyment is one of the best things you can do for your mental health. reading daily is good for your soul. it’s good for your brain. and it makes you mysteriously gorgeous
There wasn't any "art" in it for me but his quote is so relatable. I knew how terrible it was, how much people hate the smell, the money wasted...but I was never going to hate cigarettes. It was a ritual/reward combo. I quit 10 years ago & still think about it every day.
I'd watch a DL movie that was directed via hologram. “Smoking was something that I absolutely loved...It was part of the art life for me...having a smoke &...thinking about things; nothing like it in this world is so beautiful. Meanwhile, it’s killing me." https://t.co/mQNlcnoHSa
