Our recent visit to a community school has allowed us to gain key insight and valuable information. We’ve learned that Community schools are centers of flourishing communities where everyone belongs, works together, and thrives.
Over the past few months we’ve introduced the concept of Community Schools–an approach to how we do “school” that meets the needs of students, families, educators, and our communities. Follow along with us to learn more and add your thoughts to this ongoing conversation!
In March and April, Our JPS hosted community meetings in Each of Jackson’s 7 wards. During these meetings, we discussed our schools, communities, and our dreams of what both of these could look like.

On tomorrow, the JXN People's Assembly will host a Youth Assembly to provide Jackson Youth (ages 14-24) a chance to come together to share their experiences, discuss the issues affecting them, and offer a safe space to come together and develop real solutions.
