@TxDOTHouston We’ve been in this traffic for 3 hours and have gone one mile. We’ve rescheduled our flights twice. While I understand traffic- this is not a delay. This is a travesty.

I have driven from Texas City through the entirety of Galveston Island, down through Surfside Beach and Freeport, back up into Sugar Land, across the greater Houston area, and now out to the George Bush airport region. I kid you not I have not seen a single power truck.

I don’t know what happened, but it feels like somebody wasn’t prepared for what was forecast to be a hurricane for this region.

Tomorrow I will fly home after spending the night in a dark, hot hotel room. This doesn’t bother me at all. It comes with the job. I do worry about all the people who this does bother. How long until they get power?

I also noticed at various gas stations that people were using plastic milk jugs for gasoline. Yikes.

Something just feels different this time around for Houston. I have been here for several hurricanes during my career.

I’m not criticizing and I’m not complaining. I’m just telling you what I have seen and experienced.

How are things going for you out there?
