At 8ft x 42 in (244 x 107 cm), Spectre is the largest work I've painted. It was designed for the lyrics of the song 'Wildfire', Michael Martin Murphy. The lyrics are represented on the canvas.

Dissolution at Dissolution. The face is unfinished. There's a gesture, very organic, that I captured where he's looking at me in that familiar way. I tried to work on it but kept reverting back to the original marks. Then he was gone and the dialogue end… https://t.co/fXJQB0vjtz

As I watched him, I descended into sadness. The grass collected me. It had become symbolic of ubiquity and perseverance. Its perennial existence was beautiful. He was beautiful... and damaged. And he could no longer eat it at his age.
