never been a “target every single channel” rep
Pre requisite is phone + email
never solely rely on phone
having an automated email sequence that just churns out 3-5 meetings booked a week is v important
eases your workload
can’t stress enough for how important it is for a BDR to be comfortable with agentic AI
and don’t be that guy who uses the free trial of an online tool and calls it a day
use claude code, get comfy on the terminal, build your own personalised workflows
BE CURIOUS.
@RooktoRep literally as simple as that but tbf you can be lenient on word count if your messaging is solid
this below email genuinely booked me 35 meetings in the last 90 days & it’s well over 90 words
@SalesPsych0 good luck mate. I’ve had a similar journey to you & very recently had success with cold email for first time
similar principles to the phone. High volume, have a clear, repeatable message that conveys value, targeted to the right ICP
after that it’s just deliverability stuff
@thedealdirector I sell directly into this space, so many vendors flooding into and jockeying for position but doesn’t really feel like theres a standout for this yet - too many diff specialised use cases for one vendor to dominate I would presume
Could see Palo Alto or Okta doing well tho
@salesxsaas Yh no.7 is interesting.
One of my ENT AEs got fired last month
Ran a closed lost report on his opps and 90% reason for CL is pricing
deal was never there in the first place
wrapped up this quarter & finished on 116% of target
no time to celebrate - straight into Q4.
10 meetings already locked and loaded in calendar for October
We’ve got a presidents club to hit fellas
@paolo_scales Canary Wharf feels like a different country to the rest of London
but having worked in one Canada square & the WeWork I can vouch
it is absolutely peak work lifestyle
whether you see it or not - your personal life, your mind is a direct reflection of how well you do in sales
eat slop everyday, sit on the couch, crank your hog and play video games you can expect to be bottom of the leaderboard
and you deserve it 🫵
I’ve cold called for large enterprises and also for startups you’ve never heard of
the thick skin i developed at a startup has served me well
I was able to build pipe for a mediocre product with no brand recognition to IT leaders in the UK (some of the most stubborn bunch you’ll ever dial)
if you can do that, you can sell anything
research before cold calling or not
tired of seeing this slop argument on LinkedIn
the answer is it simply depends on your product/persona
wanna know if it applies to you? just fire some dials and you’ll have an answer
anyone making sweeping/blanket statements are wrong
Will be posting on the regs on this account but for any early followers:
Im an Enterprise BDR at a household cyber security firm
Based in London (greatest city in the world)
Leverage the fuck out of AI to help me hit my target (will share more on the systems I’ve built)
