Latest update from Berlin, body now primed and sanded awaiting final paintwork. Apparently lots of internal and furniture work going on in tandem. We are visiting in July/August so hopefully we will see progress by then.
Well, there is some progress. Colours and fridge/freezer placement now agreed. Bathroom redesigned and delivery apparently still on schedule for November. Plans being made for the import into UK before Christmas!
I must admit we were both disappointed that progress in the last two months has been, well, zero.
We visited this week and have discussed internal colours, fabrics and external positioning of doors for spare wheel and storage.
November doesn’t seem far away. Fingers crossed.
Car meets body. Door and window apertures now being cut and the body gets painted the same colour as the car. Lots of decisions to be made and the internal build process starts soon!
Right. So this, in white, is the carbon body released from the green outer mould. It’s upside down and when ‘married’ to the car body will make a lot more sense.
Here’s the chassis after the entire vehicle has been deconstructed. Bits in boxes everywhere so let’s hope nothing gets lost. One maybe it can feature on @GCIass
The car is now in Germany and will be worked on by two different companies. The first will completely disassemble the car and stretch the chassis by 500mm. I repeat they will completely disassemble! These are two examples of their other types of designs.
The start of a story that hopefully details the conversion of this G Wagon 2022 G400 to a camper van and at some stage next year (2024) the journeys of Geovanni and occupants. Lots of fingers being crossed as plenty of challenges await…
