Within a committee, a validator gets randomly picked as the slot proposer.

All other validators become attesters to sign the proposed slot’s block.

If a block is bad (e.g double spending), attesters can vote against it and the proposer gets slashed!

1 epoch = 32 slot
1 slot = 12 seconds
A proposer can miss a slot. A slot ideally contains a block.

At the start of an epoch:

All active validators are randomly assigned to committees of min size 128.

Each slot has max 64 committees (for now). Right now, just one committee does the work.

When sharding happens, committees within a slot are assigned to different shards!
