No update on the negotiations page that Canada Post is laying off striking employees? Strange that they would not want to keep us up to date with their progress on resolving the strike. @canadapostcorp needs to get their stuff together if they want to compete with the big boys.
I 100% support @EBU_HQ's and @Eurovision's decision to boot the Netherlands. Although I think Joost's actions could come from anyone who's as mentally, physically and emotionally as exhausted as he must be - they have to have a zero tolerance policy against aggression.
@p_chris82432@AVROTROS Why would that be your assumption? Even the Netherlands broadcaster admitted to a "threatening movement" towards this camera woman. There is currently a police investigation and they are not in the habit of releasing evidence to the public in a current investigation...
@p_chris82432@AVROTROS But I am a stagehand, so depending on how "work-out-able" the situation was I might expect to be sent home and not asked to come back for the rest of the production. So I am a bit closer to this than people with 9-5 jobs.
@p_chris82432@AVROTROS I wouldn't expect to be fired on the spot, no. But the only real penalty Eurovision can hand out is disqualification. They presumably have camera footage of the incident so while I don't think it's a criminal offense, I do think disqualification is the only possible consequence.
@p_chris82432@AVROTROS I don't see how a "threatening gesture" is not aggression. But yeah, talk to their boss. This is a workplace not a circus ring. Workplace rules apply and if I did something like that to my coworker I would expect consequences.
@Nasildabildin @EBU_HQ@Eurovision It's unfortunately the only real punishment Eurovision has to hand out. Look, I loved the guy and I thought the song would win, but there has to be a consequence for something like that. That woman has to feel safe at work.
This is the best reply to anything I have ever received in my life. HAHAHA A+! Doesn't have anything to rebutt my points so they resort to going "yeah well, you are fat" nice from a school child. <3
@Nasildabildin @EBU_HQ@Eurovision So talk to her boss. No call to be aggressive in a work environment. Again, I think that reaction could come out of anyone who is under that amount of stress but the disqualification was a justifiable penalty for aggression in their work place.
It's a shame because he was my pick for the win and like I said, that action could have easily come out of any of us but having said that, it's still not ok and if @Eurovision were to allow that aggression towards the crew - where's the line?
@EBU_HQ@Eurovision The crew of @Eurovision and @EBU_HQ deserves to feel safe in their work environment. If the crew is doing something you as an artist don't like you need to talk to their boss, not threaten them in their work environment.
