@nntaleb and ofcourse the early Islamic Empire itself benefitted from (and did not think as of alien) - the Greek and Roman civilizations preceding. But now apparently its supposedly exclusive cultural history of the "West"
@JoshuaClaybourn@holland_tom True, one could extrapolate with some license and view the movie as a warning to western actions in recent times that are completely at odds of the virtues preached by Christ.
@DaveArends97@RobDauster without VAR - there isn't a chance in hell that would have been called offsides - I would personally prefer that the keeper be excluded from offside calculation - should just be one defender
@nadeemhaque It's perfectly ok (in fact appropriate) for people to inherit shares. Inheriting positions without being qualified is the problem. Try telling most of our Seths that.
@nadeemhaque@shahzadsaleem lastly there is no real downside to debt - you ever heard of a seth having to hand over his company because he defaulted - as happens in every developed country. Equity is not wiped out here - which is a big attractiveness of debt.
@nadeemhaque@shahzadsaleem I don't know about Shahzad sb - but in general most owners are loath to dilute control, some have such disregard for minority shareholders that they get group companies into invest in other ventures to maintain control knowing the stock price wont reflect this.
@shahzadsaleem@nadeemhaque and from a historical average perspective - since us rates have gone up, I believe our current rate diferential is lower than what it has averaged historically.
@shahzadsaleem@nadeemhaque high rates bring in capital to fixed income also help retain capital bc people are getting a higher rate (in exchange for taking deval risk). I am absolutely not a fan of keeping the rupee artifically strong.
