@Fred_On_X The house I grew up in in the 70's and 80's had none of that either. We did have forced hot air gas heat though. But used kerosene heaters to supplement when it got very cold. One bathroom for three kids and two parents. It was the norm.

@MichaelGrahamSC I've heard many stories like this from people with Samsung and LG appliances. I'll stick with Whirlpool and GE appliances. I can still get any part I need for my 25 year old Kenmore (Whirlpool) clothes dryer and 12 year old Admiral (Whirlpool) washer.

@HappyMotorhead Even by 80's standards, they were slow as all hell. Jacking up the suspension and adding big tires did not help. They rotted out quickly in 4 season states. That said, I'd love a standard cab mini pickup with a modern engine these days.

@GuntherEagleman There are only a handful of memory chip mfgrs in the world and they've all shifted to higher profit AI chip production. The cost of laptops, thumb drives, SSD drives, etc. has skyrocketed because of this. Maybe it's time for car makers not to put a chip in a door lock switch.
