Study looking at what helps people recover from suicidal thoughts & behaviours. Interested in hearing from those with lived experience | Recruitment closed
Continuing with the suicide myths for #WSPD2022, here's myth #4 that suicide is caused by a single factor.
This myth is still all too often perpetuated by some media reports, that reduce explanations of suicide to a single cause, which is wrong and dangerous
#SuicideMyths
Here's the next myth, myth #3.
It is so important that we debunk the myth that people who are suicidal clearly want to die.
Suicidal thoughts wax and wane, we need to try to keep people safe when their suicidal thoughts are at their most intense
#WSPD2022#SuicideMyths
Here's myth #2, asking about suicide ‘plants’ the idea in someone’s head.
This is one of the myths that I am still frequently asked about.
If you're concerned about someone, please ask the question

In the lead up to World Suicide Prevention Day, I'm going to share some of the common myths about suicide that I talk about in #WhenItIsDarkest
Here's myth #1 Those who talk about suicide are not at risk of suicide #WSPD2022#SuicideMyths

As part of the study we invited participants to provide us with additional statements about recovery that we had not considered. I am currently going through these statements and wanted to quickly thank everyone for taking the time to share your thoughts with us! 1/2
